Love Island stars Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood have had their ITVBe spin-off reality show cut short due to ‘excessive arguing’.

The couple’s fly-on-the-wall series Crackin’ On has been halved from six episodes to three as it reportedly showed too much nastiness.

Olivia, 26, and Chris, 34, reportedly finally called it quits this week after an ‘explosive’ relationship following their love story in the villa.

A show source told The Sun Online: ‘There was only so much arguing they could include.

‘While Chris and Olivia had lots of good times in the Love Island villa, afterwards all they seemed to do was bicker.

‘Producers decided that they could fit all of the footage, which was mostly of nastiness between them, into three episodes instead of six.

‘It will start with them moving in together and end with them breaking up. It’s a complete story if nothing else.’

An ITV spokesman said: ‘We never confirmed a set number of episodes but it was felt that, further to recent developments in their relationship, the series had reached a natural end point.’

Meanwhile the show’s co-stars Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen have weighed in on the couple’s reported split.

Chris and Liv, who finished third on the show last year, are rumoured to have called time on their relationship after seven months together, with Chris supposedly ending things over text.

Gabby and Marcel said they had heard ‘rumours’ the couple had broken up, and recalled the pair always having a fiery relationship.

Marcel told Metro.co.uk at the NME Awards: ‘They have had a really rocky relationship for a while. We heard rumours about it but I wasn’t sure.’

‘They were so explosive. They were up and down all the time,’ Gabby said.

‘They were like that in the villa. It was very explosive.

‘With that kind of relationship you make it work because you’re obsessed with it or you call it quits.’

Crackin’ On airs on ITVbe in March.
