The countdown has begun to the highlight of the entertainment world, the Oscars. But who is odds-on to win?
Currently the frontrunners for the gongs are Emma Stone, Casery Affleck and La La Land. But let’s break it down by category ….
At the time of writing, Emma Stone is favourite to get the Oscar, with odds of 1/7, according to Ladbrokes.
She’s followed closely by Jackie actress, Natalie Portman, at 6/1 and Isabelle Huppert for her role in Elle at 10/1.
So far, the Manchester by the Sea actor Casey Affleck is the frontrunner, with odds of 8/11.
He’s followed by Fences star Denzel Washington with odds of 11/10 and Ryan Gosling in La La Land with odds of 14/1.
Perhaps no surprises here, but La La Land is the favourite to get Best Picture at the Oscars. It has odds of 1/5 to win.
Moonlight is second favourite so far at 4/1, followed by Hidden Figures at 33/1.
Best Visual Effects:
The Jungle Book is frontrunner for this digital award, at odds of 1/8.
The film is followed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story at odds of 6/1 and Doctor Strange at 10/1.
Best Adapted Screenplay:
So far, the odds-on favourite is Moonlight at 1/5.
It’s closely followed by Arrival and Hidden Figures, both at 7/1.
Best Original Screenplay:
Manchester by the Sea is leading the pack for this category, with odds of 8/15 to take the gong.
La La Land is closely behind with odds of 13/8, followed by Hell or High Water at 14/1.
Best Animated Feature:
And let’s not forget the animation category in the battle of the box office.
So far, Zootopia is ahead with odds of 1/4, followed by Kubo and the Two Strings at 5/2 and Moana at 20/1.
