Drake made a late night pit-stop into an essential institution of British culture – the local Co-Operative.
The Hotline Bling popped by a Birmingham store on Friday night to pick up some sweets.
Drake was busy performing two sell-out gigs at the Barclaycard Arena last week – and so understandably likely needed to catch up on the groceries.
The singer was all smiles as he struck his trademark pose with store assistant Josh instead of, well, probably catching his private jet back to America.
‘Drake gave me a grin and said “hey” and shook my hand. I couldn’t believe it,’ Josh told Mail Online.
‘I was just thinking “What the hell is Drake doing in my Co-op?” We had a little chat but honestly it was such a blur.
‘Another man followed him into the shop and it was very clear that was his bodyguard.’
He added: ‘Drake was really chilled and I was too. Drake is a cool guy and I’m a cool guy. I didn’t act starry-eyed.
‘I told him I did music too and then joked that we should do a track together and he laughed and said sure.’
When not in the Co-Operative (or on stage) you’ll probably find Drake inside a Nando’s – the Grammy winner spent a cool £534.55 at Briggate shop while performing in Leeds back in February.
Now that’s a lot of peri-peri sauce.
