Every cat owner knows that no matter how much your kitty loves you, they’ll never really appreciate what you do for them – unless it involves food, of course.
Just try buying them a new bed, for instance, and you try to tell me they don’t prefer the cardboard box it arrived in.
Madness, I know.
But not as mad as one cute cat whose owner built him an entire castle – and he still ignored it.
26-year-old Frances Ratner, from New Zealand, decided to put together a castle for her 6-month-old kitten to fit his name, Prince Peachblossom.
Prince Peachblossom is an adorable fluffy cat with a love of pom-poms – though Frances tells Buzzfeed that this can be annoying, as he loves to hide them all over the house before forgetting where they are and crying because he misses them (has your heart melted yet?).
‘This could all be an elaborate ploy to accumulate a critical mass of pom-poms for some nefarious purpose,’ noted Frances.
But Frances wanted to one-up the pom-pom game by giving Prince something he wouldn’t be able to hide – a castle.
Using cardboard, Frances spent a very long time building the castle from scratch, which came complete with windows so that Prince could spy on his owner from his very own kingdom.
Prince loved the castle at first, and Frances was able to snap a few photos of him in it.
These pictures will probably be the only memory Frances has of Prince in his kingdom – as he soon started ignoring it, just 10 minutes after it had been built.
Yes, EVEN THOUGH IT’S CARBOARD.
But Frances is okay with that, she’s just glad she got to do something nice for Prince.
She said: ‘I don’t mind though.
‘He’s a prince— he’s allowed to be fussy.’
