A boxing event at a football stadium descended into madness after fans started fighting.
A video showed a group beating each other senseless at Leeds United FC’s Elland Road stadium yesterday night.
The trouble started at around 10.30pm when a fight had just finished in the ring.
There were reports a woman was knocked out during the melee inside the conference centre.
In the footage some of the crowd can be seen throwing chairs and a woman appears to be having a fist fight with a man.
Security tried to stop the scrap along with the host, who was standing in the ring, but they were unable to.
‘We are here for boxing tonight and some of you have just ruined it,’ the host said.
‘It has been spoilt by you guys. We cannot continue like this… you are behaving like children. You are spoiling it for any other boxing event here in Leeds. It is such a shame.
‘If you don’t want to be in here to watch the boxing f**k off.
‘I have worked in boxing for 40 years, this is absolutely f*****g disgusting.’
West Yorkshire Police managed to calm the situation down when they arrived on the scene and are now investigating the incident.
A spokesman for the force said: ‘Police were called at 22.27 on Saturday 18 February to large scale disorder at Elland Road football ground in Leeds.
‘Around 40 people were involved in the disorder at an organised boxing event at the stadium.
‘Officers attended and the crowd dispersed.’
Three people were taken to hospital after suffering minor injuries.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Leeds CID via 101 quoting log number 1843 of 18/2.
