You may have come across the Twitter account @YesYoureRacist before.
The account, which is run under the pseudonym Yes, You’re Racist and is based in ‘a dark corner of the internet’, has been calling out racists on the internet since 2012.
Usually this involves retweeting and quote-tweeting people who start a sentence with ‘I’m not racist, but…’, followed by something quite racist.
But this week, things escalated.
A huge white nationalist rally was held, ostensibly protesting against the removal of a Confederate general Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday.
It soon turned deadly. A 20-year-old man identified as James Alex Fields Jr deliberately accelerated his car into a crowd of anti-racist counter-protesters, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injuring at least 19 others.
In response, Yes, You’re Racist is stepping things up – by publicly identifying the neo-Nazis who were at the rally, and potentially getting them sacked from their jobs.
Tweeting on Saturday after the riots, Yes, You’re Racist posted photos of those at the rally and wrote: ‘If you recognise any of the Nazis marching in #Charlottesville, send me their names/profiles and I’ll make them famous #GoodNightAltRight’
After people sent him direct messages identifying those they recognised, he tweeted their names and workplaces, or universities, publicly.
One marcher, for example, apparently works at a restaurant called Top Dog in Berkeley, California, and was reportedly also involved in violent protests in Oakland in May. (Metro.co.uk is currently independently verifying the name of the protester in question.)
The account also shared photos of notorious alt-right leader Richard Spencer getting apprehended with the hashtag #BashTheFash.

Spencer is most well-known for getting punched in the face after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.
And then, soon afterwards, Yes, You’re Racist shared footage of neo-Nazi Baked Alaska (whom you may remember from the ‘Heil Milk’ stuff at the start of this year) having milk poured on his face after he was maced.

We’re sure the irony was not lost on him.
And the anonymous anti-racist also managed to identify the man in one of the most recognisable photos from that tragic night.
A young man pictured screaming, full of hate, while waving a flaming torch was named by the account as Peter Cvjetanovic, a student at the University of Nevada.
Just hours after the tweet, news reporters in his local Reno confirmed that the photo was indeed of Cvetanovic.
‘Maybe next time these dipshits will remember to wear their hoods,’ Yes, You’re Racist wrote.
