A 14-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital, after he was found stabbed in the grounds of church near Oval station, south east London.

Police officers were called shortly after 4pm to reports of a male being injured in the grounds of a church on Kennington Park Road.

Paramedics hurried to the scene and the boy was taken to a south London hospital.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed the incident was not being treated as ‘terror-related’.

The spokesperson added: ‘Police were called on Monday, 19 June at around 16:05 hours to a report of a male injured inside the grounds of church in Kennington Park Road, SE11.

‘Officers attended and found a 14-year-old male suffering from a stab injury.

‘The London Ambulance Service were called and he was taken to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition.’

‘Officers remain on scene and there is a significant policing presence in the area.

‘No arrests and enquiries are ongoing.’
