Stormzy’s ‘misses’ was left facing his answering machine after apparently trying to ring him halfway through Sunday Brunch this morning, and he didn’t answer.
Doctor Who season 10: Everything you need to knowThe rapper, whose debut album was released on February 24th, appeared on the programme to chat about his busy week, which involved a Brit performance with Ed Sheeran, and to cook some spiced chicken with black pepper vinegar slaw.
While Irish actress and comedian Aisling Bea was getting ready to make her dessert, a phone went off in the studio.
The grime star apologised: ‘Sorry it was my misses, it was my misses, sorry guys, she’s trying to FaceTime me.’
One of the hosts who was off camera at the time joked: ‘I love you.’
Stormzy’s lady may have had to leave a message at the tone, but she did get an on air apology. If that helps.
‘Sorry babe,’ Stormzy said.
Bea did a mock impression of Stormzy covertly answering his phone: ‘No, where do you know me from? From love.’
In an interview with hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, Stormzy talked about the past week which saw his debut album reach number one.
However, the star admitted his appearance with Ed Sheeran at the Brit Awards was ‘one of the scariest things I’ve ever done in my life’.
He said: ‘I don’t even remember the performance, basically, I just remember walking on stage.’
And when he got down to cooking later in the programme, he joked that he preferred cooking his chicken dish to performing with the Shape Of You singer at the Brits.
‘This is definitely easier,’ he said.
Stormzy was joined in the studio by fellow guests James Arthur, Aisling Bea, Rufus Hound and Catastrophe stars Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan.
