Sarah Harding’s estranged dad has come forward to blast CBB for being ‘cruel’ to his daughter.
After a series of breakdowns in the house, John Hardman, who became estranged from his daughter in 2000, has called for her to be removed from the show as he says she is being ‘cruelly exploited.’
John and Sarah haven’t spoken for 17 years after the Girls Aloud star distanced herself from her father after he split from her mum Marie, and later failed to tell her her grandfather had died.
But John has now come forward to say the 37-year-old is being ‘humiliated’ and ‘exploited for ratings’, saying he worries for her health.
The 65-year-old told The Mirror: ‘Sarah’s being cruelly exploited for ratings purposes. It would be in her bests interests if Celebrity Big Brother arranged for her to leave – her health is in jeopardy.
‘I can’t bear to see my daughter break down and be forced to open her heart once more about her insecurities and vulnerabilities in front of cameras.
‘It’s cruel TV.’
He went on to say the former pop star has no need to be in the house following a successful career, and that he was shocked at her use of expletives.
‘She’s crying out for real love,’ he said.
However, representatives for Celebrity Big Brother have told Metro.co.uk. : ‘Big Brother constantly monitors housemates and their behaviour.’
John’s last communication with Sarah was when she passed a letter to him through her mother at the funeral of her grandfather Patrick. In the letter she disowned him, and blamed him for the breakdown of their family.
Sarah has a nine-year-old brother she has never met.
Sarah has had a tumuluous week with arguments with fellow housemates Jemma Lucy and Paul Danan. Ofcom have since received complaints of bullying towards the Girls Aloud star, after Paul’s rant at the star.
However her week may have ended on a positive note, as Chad revealed in the diary room that he has feelings for her, while evictee Karthik told Metro.co.uk that Sarah has a guy waiting for her on the outside.
