After nearly 40 years Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise is still going strong and it isn’t showing any signs of stopping.
The first Power Rangers reviews are in but is it a morphin’ good time? The acclaimed director has revealed that if the latest addition to the franchise, Alien: Covenant, is a success then he’d been keen to make another three prequels, if not four.
Which would mean the franchise could have up to six Alien prequels in total which is a hell of a lot of backstory.
Steady on there Scott.
In an interview with Fandango Scott said: ‘There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back head of [the original] Alien.’
He went on: ‘If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more.’
Sir Scott has already said that the next film has been written and it seems as though there could be another Alien movie, called Alien: Awakening, which may come before the events of Covenant or between Covenant and Prometheus.
Covenant, which is due to be released on May 12, is the second prequel to Alien, following 2012’s Prometheus.
Scott explained that it would set itself apart from Prometheus by being ‘gorier’ and ‘smarter’.
You would think Scott would already have his work cut out since he’s reuniting with Tom Hardy for a new Netflix movie but clearly the man has an insane work ethic.
Whatever happens it looks like we could be seeing a lot more trailers such as this one for Alien: Covenant.
