Rick and Morty has taken the world by storm, almost everyone with a Netflix account having rattled through the first two seasons and eagerly awaiting each episode of the third.
Between the new episodes, Adult Swim — who broadcast the show in the US — has begun a web series detailing how the animated comedy was created.
On Friday (11 August), the first was uploaded to Youtube, showing the humble beginnings of creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon.
The two, as shown in the clip, discovered each other after moving to LA. While in La La Land, Harmon and friend Rob Schrab began Channel 101, a monthly short film festival where filmmakers played their work to an audience of like-minded creators.

Roiland submitted numerous cartoons, but the one that caught Harmon’s attention was House of Cosbys, which led to the pair collaborating on other projects. Watch below.
