Jose Mourinho should sign Ricardo Rodriguez to solve Manchester United’s left-back problem, according to Paul Parker.

The Portuguese tactician has struggled to find the ideal left-sided defender among his current squad, using Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian at various points in the season.

Many expect Mourinho to search for a new left-back in the summer transfer window and Parker believes Wolfsburg’s Rodriguez would be a quality addition.

‘I like Rodriguez at Wolfsburg who is one of the best left-backs in Europe,’ Parker said, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

‘Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s a Mourinho player.

‘He reminds me of Filipe Luis who Mourinho signed for Chelsea from Atletico Madrid but never played him.’

Mourinho has insisted Shaw will not leave the club in the summer but it seems likely he will bolster his defensive options.
