Jose Mourinho revealed after Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over West Ham that his players ignored his half-time instructions.
The Red Devils thrashed the Hammers at Old Trafford, with debutant Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace to get things started.
Anthony Martial and then Paul Pogba also got in on the act late on as the visitors fell apart.
It was an impressive performance from Manchester United, however the game could have quite easily taken a different turn.
At 2-0, second half substitute Diafra Sakho went close for West Ham. Mourinho revealed that he had warned his players about the threat the Hammers forward would pose if he came on, but it appears they ignored his advice.
‘I am [pleased with the performance] but I remember every second of the game,’ Mourinho told MUTV. ‘I don’t forget the ball hitting the bar at 2-0 and Diafra Sakho coming onto the pitch.
‘In spite of speaking about Sakho at half-time, he was free and almost scored.
‘If the score was 2-1, the last 20 minutes, instead of enjoying trying to score more goals, it would have been about not conceding the equaliser, for not losing two points.’

Mourinho said that the most pleasing thing about the performance, which sees Manchester United sit at the top of the table after the first round of matches, was the confidence oozing through his side.
‘Yes, we did very good things but the thing I’m more pleased about is the confidence levels in the team and individually. The confidence to play good football.’
