Barcelona’s desperation to keep Lionel Messi at the club could push them to sell naming rights to the Nou Camp.
The Argentina international is in the final year of his contract and is delaying putting pen to paper on a new deal.
In addition to a huge wage, Barcelona are reportedly ready to offer Messi a signing-on fee of around £80million.
But such an offer, thought to be the highest ever, will see the need to raise revenues and selling naming rights to their famous stadium is among the options.
It’s reported that the Nou Camp could have a sponsor’s name attached to it as early as next season.
The club are also due to begin transforming their home to include a roof and increase the capacity to 105,000. A firm has been assigned the task of finding a sponsor with potential options possibly being discussed as early as the start of next year.
