Lindsay Lohan declares she wants to be Ariel in a live action film of The Little Mermaid
Well, they do have the same hair…Lindsay Lohan has announced her intention to play Ariel in a live action film of The Little Mermaid

Lindsay Lohan has kept away from Hollywood in recent years but now it looks like the former actress wants to revive her acting career – as Ariel in a live-action film version of The Little Mermaid.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Lindsay told her 5.9million followers alongside a side-by-side photo of her the famous red-headed cartoon mermaid princess: ‘I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid.’

But Lindsay being Lindsay, she announced there would be CERTAIN conditions with the role.

The first was that ‘@disney approve that “#billcondon directs it along with my sister @alianamusic singing the theme song for the soundtrack.’

She then went on to ask for sports enthusiast Kristen Graham to be given the role of Ursula.

Okay, Lindsay, whatever you say.

Disney has not yet commented on the film and did not respond to her post which later was changed to the more subtle caption of simply: ‘#thelittlemermaid.’

The Mean Girls star, who has been working in Turkey and is said to be toying with the idea of converting to Islam, has often stated in interviews that Ariel is her dream role.

In summer 2016, Disney execs were reportedly in talks about a possible live-action Little Mermaid movie, and Broadway’s Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda said in an interview that he was in ‘super-early talks’ to take part in the film.

‘I literally don’t have a title for what my job on The Little Mermaid is yet,’ he claimed.

‘Right now, it’s the guy who wears the “don’t mess it up” hat. If I could sign a contract with that job title on it, that would be great!

‘But that’s sort of where we are.’
