Serial killer Levi Bellfield has reportedly bragged about the food he gets to eat in prison.

The Sun claimed that Bellfield, 49, wrote to a pen pal showing off about getting rump steak and kippers in Frankland jail, Co Durham.

‘The prison food is OK but I cook daily,’ the killer, whose victims include Milly Dowler, is said to have written.

‘Halal rump steak, leg of lamb, chicken or roast beef. I like to spend my private money on proper food mate. To be honest mate, I most likely eat better than most out there.

‘I also like fish, haddock, kippers and mackerel.’

He added that he’s ‘a good cook’, before signing the letter off as Yusuf Rahim – the name he has adopted since apparently converting to Islam.

Bellfield was jailed for life in 2008 for the murders of student Amelie Delagrange, teenager Marsha McDonnell, and the attempted murder of teenager Kate Sheedy.

He followed Marsha and Amelia and bludgeoned them from behind with a hammer. Kate was run over in the street.

Three years later, in 2011, he was convicted of the 2002 murder of 13-year-old Milly Dowler. She was abducted on her way home from school in Walton on Thames in Surrey.

Bellfield is also suspected to have been behind more than 100 assaults and sex attacks.
