The 23-year-old is working with German Dieter ‘Didi’ Kindlmann on a trial basis ahead of her next tournament in Yokohama in two weeks’ time.
Kindlmann is an experienced figure in the game, having spent three years with Sharapova prior to her ban for testing positive for meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open, while also working alongside world No. 22 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
The 34-year-old, who reached a career-high ranking of 130 in his own playing career, is currently unattached and he is now coaching the former British No. 1 on a temporary basis.
Robson has endured a miserable few years after a wrist injury halted her climb towards the top 20.
Having reached the fourth round of both Wimbledon and the US Open, Robson reached as high as 27 in the world rankings but has since fallen to No. 209.
