Matt Damon’s film Manchester by the Sea is up for a Best Picture Oscars award but he might have trouble collecting the gong if it wins.
For the 89th Academy Awards host is Jimmy Kimmel who has vowed to ‘keep him offstage.’
The pair has a long-standing faux feud which the 49-year-old funnyman will not drop.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, the comedienne and presenter – who also hosted the 2016 Emmys in September – said of Damon’s chances: ‘I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that he (Damon) doesn’t win or doesn’t know that he won.
‘My goal is to keep him offstage.’
The two stars joke feud started in 2005 when Kimmel ad-libbed about Matt Damon on his ABC show Jimmy Kimmel Live for running out of time.
He would say, ‘Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time,’ and the phrase would be repeated nightly.
Since then the pair have continued to pull pranks on each other with Kimmel spoofing Matt’s film The Martian.
He also stirred the pot by giving an interview to People magazine where he said of the Hollywood star’s nomination, ‘He’s nominated, unfairly obviously, for producing.
‘You know he doesn’t produce anything – maybe he produces garbage at home. If he makes the mistake of entering that theater, it will be addressed, let’s put it that way.
‘He should stay home on Oscar night.’
Oh please let the film win just to see what these two do on stage to each other.
