Jeremy Kyle clashed with dating expert Nadia Essex on Wednesday morning’s GMB, to the point where he looked like he was going to explode.

It was like a scene from The Jeremy Kyle Show!

The 52-year-old talk show host – who’s filling in for Piers Morgan while he films for Serial Killers – seemed to take great offence at the Celebs Go Dating star’s comments that human beings are only on the planet to reproduce.

In a segment on whether it’s better to be single or in a relationship on Valentine’s Day, 36-year-old Nadia – who’s single but looking for love – was joined by happily single guest Felicity.

Arguing her corner about why she wants to fall in love, Nadia declared: ‘But ultimately we are here as human beings to reproduce.’

Felicity seemed blatantly unimpressed with Nadia’s remark, before the dating expert continued: ‘Yeah we are! Otherwise we are going to go extinct. How can you turn your face up at basic biology?’

During the pair’s conversation, Jeremy had a little while to collect his thoughts – but his demeanour also appeared to grow in rage, as he said that people having too many kids are part of the reason they end up on his talk show.

He raged at Nadia: ‘I have to move on because I have a wedding to do, but you did actually say to me live on television that we’re all here just to reproduce?’

Nadia hit back: ‘If we don’t reproduce, we will go extinct as a species.’

Jeremy retorted: ‘Where I come from, there’s too many people reproducing, far too often.

‘I think people should just wind it back and relax a little bit, and you might have less problems in the world if people were a little bit more careful, that’s all I have to say.’

Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts, with many agreeing with Nadia’s comments:

Others agreed with Jeremy and called Nadia’s comments ‘insensitive’ and ‘offensive’ to women who are unable to have children:
