Once upon a time, Amazon was just for buying books.
Then it turned out that you could buy other stuff on there, like water pistols and printers and we all became attached to the idea of shopping without leaving our houses.
But the one area that Amazon doesn’t seem to have quite nailed yet is clothing.
At least until now. Amazon is introducing a new lingerie line, Iris&Lilly and we’ve been hearing some exciting things.
Firstly, the price on these undies is amazing. You can get a bra for less than £10 (about £8 on average) and a pair of knickers for between £2.50 and £5. Which is about a third of the price of lingerie giant Victoria Secret.
The collection on offer at the moment is pretty minimal, with more items being rolled out over the next few weeks, but the capsule collection already online is pretty impressive.
The soft lace bralette is £7.99. It’s super similar to other bralette offerings from higher-end retailers.
The Valentine’s DD+ bra is priced at £14.99, which compared to a lot of D+ bras is a snip. It avoids the granny bra trap that’s so common above a DD cup with flirty detailing and a pretty colour.
It’s noteworthy that Amazon is also taking on the bigger bust market, which is largely ignored by so many high street lingerie retailers (confusing, given that the average woman in the UK wears a 36D).
Between the impressively low prices and the range of size options available, we’re excited to see more from Iris and Lilly when their full range is unveiled later this year.
