Think of I’m A Celebrity and you might think of bug-munching, terrified famous people and of course, those bikini-clad jungle showers.
But with the start of the 2017 series just days away, it looks as though the latter might just be under threat – because it’s about to be invaded by leeches.
Yup, those campmates might have to wait a while to slip on their swimwear and head for the waterfall, because according to reports the area is set for wet weather during the first week of the show.
And that’s set to bring the leeches out of hiding – potentially making the shower a no-go area.
Yikes. So there’ll be none of this then.
Of course, leeches might not be the only issues that campmates face, following recent suggestions that the weather could really put a dampener on their jungle fun.
Reports have suggested that the cyclone season in the area is set to kick off early this year, meaning that the area could fall prey to 170mph cyclones – leaving the camp at risk of a ‘washout’.
‘An early start to the [cyclone] season is expected,’ an AccuWeather spokesperson told the Daily Star, ‘with a named cyclone forming before the end of December.’
There had been some concerns it could even affect the start date of the show, but it looks set to go ahead as planned on Sunday November 19.
