Shappi Khorsandi is probably one of the lesser known faces heading into the jungle for the new series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
A columnist and cat-lover, she joins the likes of Jamie Lomas, Rebekah Vardy, Jack Maynard and singer Vanessa White.
With a phobia of heights – and no interest in being cured of her fear – she might find some of the trials a bit tricky. We can’t wait to see her face it head on!
Read on to find out more about Shappi.
Who is she?
Hailing from Iran, Khorsandi, 44, has been doing stand up since 1997 performing everywhere from Glastonbury to Melbourne.
She often jokes about the differences in culture between Britain and Iran and has made appearances on Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The News Quiz and QI.
Shappi is also president of Humanists having been appointed the role last year.
What can we expect from her?
As a comedian we think she’ll bring her sparkling wit to the camp like Joel Dommett did last year. We think she’ll also be a great mother figure for some of the younger stars and not take any nonsense.
What’s she going to miss most while in the jungle?
Tea. She said: ‘I drink it all day. Tea is my life.’ Hard same, Shappi.
What are her social media details?
She likes posting pictures of cute animals on her Instagram account and appears to have only just started out, posting her first pic a week ago.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns on 19th November.
