A gluten free food company has recalled its porridge because it may have ‘moths and moth larvae’ in it.
Gluten Free Foods Ltd issued an urgent alert through the Food Standards Agency urging people to return its 500g Barkat Organic Gluten Free Porridge Flakes.
In the warning, they state that the flakes ‘may contain moths and moth larvae’.
It has a best before date of October 6, 2018, and sell for around £12.
‘If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it,’ the warning said. ‘Instead, return it to where it was bought for a full refund.’
The FSA said: ‘Gluten Free Foods Ltd is recalling the product and have written to their affected customers providing a Product Recall Notice to advise of this issue, as well as publishing the details of the recall on their website.
‘These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.’
