Emmerdale star Danny Miller says it is understandable that soap stars burn out – hours after rumours intensified that EastEnders star Danny Dyer has taken a break from his own soap due to exhaustion.
Miller, 26, who plays Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap, gave an account of his own gruelling work schedule while appearing on Loose Women on Monday.
‘It can be six days a week, usually it’s Monday to Friday, but it can be the occasional Saturday as well,’ the Emmerdale star said – while confessing: ‘It can be, but I know a lot of actors out there who are dying to be in this position where you are THAT busy.’
However he said he can sympathise with EastEnders star Danny, 39 – who has reportedly fled to South Africa on holiday amid a flurry of speculation.
Asked if soap stars can burn out, Miller told the ladies: ‘I guess so, yeah.’
He continued: ‘Especially if you’re coming from a drama/film shoot it’s a lot more relaxed as opposed to coming into a a soap where it’s intense, it’s 7am-7pm. It’s hard.’
Discussing further, he said Dyer’s high-profile storylines would give anyone reason to want a holiday.
‘I can understand where Danny is coming from, especially with how busy he has been over the last two years,’ he said.
