Finn Barton is set to receive the shock of his life in coming Emmerdale scenes as he learns that his lying mum Emma was on the bridge from which his dad James fell on that fateful day – but as he edges closer to the truth about what truly happened, he will be left with a dilemma. Will he protect his mum – or could he be about to shop her to the police?
Emma will be left petrified when Finn announces that he is going to clear out Wylie’s Farm and she rushes to stash away the ‘I Do Not’ note from James when he comes in and catches her sneaking about the place.
Finn clocks it though and later finds it in her jacket and Emma becomes visibly upset when Finn questions her and forces her to admit that James wrote it. He lets this lie but his misgivings are high and with Ross also suspicious, the net is closing in on Emma.
Later, when Finn hears her telling Leyla Harding that she got rid of her wedding dress, something doesn’t sit right with him and he confronts her, leading to her telling him that she ditched the gown after learning that James cheated with Moira.
But this time, Finn isn’t letting things lie – things aren’t adding up and he probes Emma further on the sequence of events from when she found out about Moira.
As some realisations dawn on him, Finn learns that she was actually on the bridge when James fell and Emma is thrown into a panic. Will she confess to what happened – and, more importantly, will Finn be prepared to shop his own mum to the cops?
With Gillian Kearney’s exit as Emma having been confirmed, her story is fast approaching its ending – could this be the catalyst for her downfall?
