Ross Barton clearly has something significant to hide and burning belongings in secret just hours after a murder investigation is never a good sign – did he kill his own mum Emma and is now disposing of incriminating evidence?
Tonight, DS Benton arrived in Emmerdale to break the news that police believe someone was up on the viaduct with Emma and is her killer and there is certainly no shortage of suspects as the villagers are all given a reason to sweat as the police search for whodunnit.
While Adam and Cain were arguing with one another about their whereabouts and Gabby was fretting that she could be blamed, Moira and Faith were discussing the turn of events too but all eyes are surely on Ross as the prime suspect.
The police had wanted to search Emma’s home but found no trace of her handbag, phone or purse. Lo and behold, Ross was later seen burning them after retrieving them from a hiding place in the garage.
As he torched what we could only assume were Emma’s belongings – including her phone – just what is he covering up. We saw that he was at the scene of the crime but whether or not he is responsible for her death is another matter entirely.
Emma made a fair few enemies during her chaotic Emmerdale stint – and Ross is just one of many who may be carrying a guilty secret.
