Chelsea are weighing up a transfer move for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, according to reports.
Emerson only joined Roma permanently back in December but the 22-year-old defender has greatly impressed under Luciano Spalletti in Serie A this season.
The Daily Mail suggest Antonio Conte is personally looking into bringing the young Brazilian to Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s understood Conte is on the hunt for defensive reinforcements at the end of the campaign, with the Italian keen to bring in competition for Marcos Alonso at wing-back.
Emerson was initially on a one-year loan deal at Roma, but he was forced to play second fiddle to Lucas Digne in the 2015/16 season.
However, following Digne’s £13.8million move to Barcelona last summer, Emerson has made the left-back spot his own at the Stadio Olimpico.
Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in signing Emerson.
