Eddie Hearn has hinted he is closer to arranging for Kell Brook to fight at Sheffield United’s stadium in May.
Brook is currently preparing for a fight with undefeated American Errol Spence as he returns to welterweight to defend his IBF title.
Hearn pulled off a similar feat last year when he managed to get Everton football club to agree to let Tony Bellew stage a world title shot at Goodison Park.
Brook is a Sheffield-native and life-long Blades fan and could be in for a Bellew-esque fairytale fight inside Bramall Lane.
Hearn posted a video to his Instagram teasing a fight in Sheffield’s stadium is possible: ‘Got to make this happen.’
Brook last fought in September in a middleweight fight with Gennady Golovkin while Spence is challenging for his first world title.
Spence has already said he would be happy to face Brook at Bramall Lane which could house upwards of 30,000 spectators.
The fight is being targeted for May with Brook going against Hearn’s wishes to end his stint at welterweight.
