Ian Beale’s head is all over the place in EastEnders following the death of his son Steven not to mention the fact that his wife Jane is fighting for her life in hospital. It leads him to re-evaluate his family and, after losing two children in the space of a few years, he could be set to cut Bobby out of the family fold forever.

Bobby was the one who robbed the family of Lucy and while Ian and Jane spent a huge amount of time covering up his killer act – a decision which was the catalyst for Max Branning’s ongoing revenge which has left them where they are now – and Ian may decide that after yet more tragedy, he can no longer bear to look at his son.

They recently got back in touch with each other after prisoner Bobby put Ian and Jane back on his contact list but in coming scenes, Sharon Mitchell realises that Ian is meant to be visiting the murderous lad – but he seems to be completely avoiding it.

With Steven’s funeral approaching, Sharon and Kathy offer Lauren their support with preparations and that’s when Sharon comes across an email confirming the visit that same day.

It soon becomes clear that Ian has no intention of going – could it be that he blames Bobby for everything that has struck his family over the last few years?

It’s make or break for their relationship and while Kathy encourages her son to keep in touch with Bobby and visit him, it remains to be seen what decision he will reach.

But whatever happens, there are more terrible shocks in store as the truth about Steven’s brain tumour lie comes to light…
