If you’re an EastEnders fan, this should put a smile on your boat race.
Danny Dyer has signed a new contract keeping him on the soap for another two years. The deal is said to have come after a meeting with new EastEnders boss John Yorke.
Danny, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter, first joined the soap in 2013.
Mick’s relationship with wife Linda, played by Kellie Bright, has seen the couple become firm favourites with fans.
However, their marriage has come under strain recently after Mick confessed to sharing a kiss with his son Lee’s ex Whitney.
Mick and Linda are trying to get their marriage back on track, but Linda is keeping a big secret about her health.
Fans will see the landlady prepare for an oncology appointment to find out if she has the all clear as she and Mick head to their first marriage counselling session.
Of course her mind is elsewhere, and this could give Mick the impression that she isn’t invested in working on their relationship. Can they get over this latest hurdle?
Outside of Albert Square, Danny is the latest name to be linked to the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, with odds putting him at 2/1 for a stint in the jungle.
