A horse and a cat have become the unlikeliest of friends after they were both adopted by their owner, Jennifer Boyle.

Jennifer has always owned both horses and cats – and she’s never had any problems. However, she didn’t expect Champy the horse and Morris the cat to become so inseparable.

Jennifer adopted Morris when he was 9 months old. He’d lived in a shelter up until this point, and therefore didn’t know what love was like.

It took him a while to get settled into his new home – but the move was made much easier as he quickly formed a bond with Champy.

Jennifer had let Morris out of the house after a few days of settling in, and Champy immediately showed an interest in him.

He would say hello and then automatically begin grooming Morris – and Morris didn’t seem to mind.

Jennifer told The Dodo: ‘Morris had never met a horse before, and to begin with was a bit shy, but Champy wants to make friends with everyone he meets.

‘It was after Champy had been grooming Morris for about a week that Morris felt safe with him and jumped onto Champy’s back to start grooming him in return.’

Now, Morris and Champy are the closest of friends and do everything together.

Often, the pair will be pictured with Morris on Champy’s back, which is apparently how they spend most of their time together.

‘They’re best friends and really trust each other,’ explained Jennifer.

‘I have four horses and two cats but Champy and Morris are best buddies.’

After realising just how entertaining the pair are to watch, Jennifer decided to set up a Facebook page to document Morris and Champy’s friendship.

The page sees Champy and Morris doing things like having a chat, going on long walks (well, Morris rides), and napping – which seems to be their favourite thing to do.

So far, the page has nearly 6,000 likes, and it seems people just can’t get enough of the lovable duo.

And we can’t, either. The pair are adorable.
