A third medal for Great Britain at the World Athletics Championships was delivered on Saturday night thanks to the women’s 4x100m relay team.
Asha Philip, Desiree Henry, Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita won silver with a superb run of 42.12.
United States won gold with Jamaica claiming the bronze medal.
It was a much needed bit of good news for the hosts following a week of mostly near misses.
Among those who just missed out earlier in the Championships was Asher-Smith, who came fourth in the 200m final. Add to that Sophie Hitchon, Laura Muir and to a lesser extent Mo Farah, who fell just short of the double gold everyone expected.
Asher-Smith ran an incredibly quick third leg before Neita anchored it home. For a moment it appeared she might be capable of winning gold but the United States showed why they were the pre-race favourites.
