A free cheese and wine festival is coming to East Village, London on the first two days of April and we couldn’t be more excited.

The free (yes, FREE) event will take place in Victory Park, and will give you the opportunity to eat as much cheese, and drink as much wine as your heart desires – without torturing your wallet.

On the first weekend of April, East Village will be transformed into a ‘haven for cheese lovers’, with the festival showcasing the ‘very best in artisan cheese and wine’ from over 25 independent retailers.

The one-off event will feature a range of delicious wine and cheese from around the world, as well as indulgent cheese boards, condiments and chutneys to go alongside – as well as tempting wine and cider.

There’ll be much to choose from – with Italian gourmet truffle cheese from Lombardy Gourmet to high-quality treats from traditional farm and dairy Jacob’s Ladder.

Alongside the nibbly bits, there’ll be some street food – including cheese Arancini, cheese-covered burgers and raclette.

And don’t worry – the wine will be just as good as the cheese, with anything from sparkling wine to hand-crafted wine being offered. There’ll be expert wine producers onsite to help you make the best choice (unless you fancy trialling them all, of course).

Alternatively, there’ll be state-of-the-art craft beer on tap if wine just isn’t your thing.

If you’re not too full from all the fantastic food – you can have a go at a selection of workshops which will take place throughout the day, where you’ll be able to find out all about the perfect cheese and wine pairing.

For those with a sweet tooth, you’ll be able to finish the day by trying out some chocolate treats from award nominated handcraft chocolatiers Zara’s Chocolates, or tuck into artistic treats from Chocolate sculptor Paul Wayne Gregory.

This one-off event is non-ticketed. Therefore you can just turn up as and when you please – and if you’re really feeling the free cheese and wine thing, why not turn up for both days?

You won’t regret it – and neither will your wallet.
