Lucas Perez’s agent says his client is now happy to remain at Arsenal, despite stating the precise opposite just 24 hours ago.
The Spaniard has endured a frustrating start to life at the Emirates Stadium, having impressed whenever used by Arsene Wenger, though still some way from claiming a regular starting spot.
Perez has seven goals and three assists so far this season, showing himself to be effective as either a winger or a centre-forward and seeming to settle quickly since his summer move from Deportivo La Coruna.
On Monday, his agent Rodrigo Fernandez Llovelle claimed that Perez wanted to leave Arsenal ‘at all costs’, but has now played down the prospect of moving.
‘Like any professional, he wants to play,’ Llovelle said.
‘When one does not play he is not happy but we knew it would be difficult and it is a long contract.
