Manchester United fans were saying their goodbyes to Bastian Schweinsteiger on Tuesday after the legendary midfielder agreed a move to MLS side Chicago Fire.
The 32-year-old’s had a disappointing 18 months at Old Trafford and failed to live up to the hype that came with his move from Bayern Munich.
The German, though, remains a hugely popular figure with the fans and his professionalism throughout a difficult campaign under Jose Mourinho earned him plenty of plaudits.
Schweinsteiger was certainly a popular figure in the Old Trafford dressing room and Anthony Martial was quick to wish the midfielder well when his move was announced calling him ‘Giorgio Armani’.
‘Oh Giorgio Armani all the best for your new challenge and thanks for your advices and your good mood,’ wrote Martial.
