The world No. 1 was due to take on the British No. 4 but a wrist injury has seen him pull out of the tie.

Thompson, a lucky loser, will now take his place and face Murray in the third match on Centre Court at the Aegon Championships.

The Australian is a 23-year-old right-hander and ranked at No. 90 in the world.

Murray has never faced Thompson in the past and he reached the final of the Surbiton challenger last week.
